For Donetsk region, it is extremely important that our partners are aware of the real situation in the region and understand the challenges people face every day.
The discussion focused on the humanitarian and security situation, evacuation efforts, the needs and support of internally displaced persons, as well as the critical needs of communities across Donetsk region.
Today, among the key priorities are ensuring stable water supply, providing backup power sources, supporting district heating enterprises, assisting evacuated residents—primarily with housing—and strengthening the network of humanitarian hubs for people displaced from Donetsk region.
“We highly appreciate UNHCR’s systematic work for the benefit of our people. During the first months of 2026 alone, thousands of residents of Donetsk region received assistance, consultations, support with housing, essential needs, and preparation for difficult living conditions.
