️Complete Your Identification on Time: A Guide for Recipients of Pension, Social, and Insurance Benefits

Published 03 October 2026 year, 16:14

Who Needs to Complete the Identification Process?

Recipients of pension or insurance benefits must complete the identification process if they:

reside in Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation;

are temporarily residing abroad (for at least 183 days).

The deadline for identification is DECEMBER 31 each year.

How do I complete the identification process?

You can choose one of four convenient methods:

1. Online—via the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s web portal at https://portal.pfu.gov.ua/, after logging into your personal account using a qualified electronic signature (Diya.Signature, “Diya ID”) (video tutorial—https://t1p.de/vxr1j).

2. Via video conference — you can submit an application for identification via video conference through the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s web portal at portal.pfu.gov.ua by filling out the corresponding electronic form (instructions: https://t1p.de/x1206), or through the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s Contact Center by calling the following numbers: 0 800 503 753, (044) 281-08-70, (044) 281-08-71.

3. Through Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad—a pension recipient temporarily residing abroad may contact a Ukrainian embassy or consulate to obtain a document certifying that the person is alive.

The document certifying that the person is alive, together with the person’s written application for the continuation of pension payments (monthly lifetime cash allowance), insurance payments, written in any format, must be sent by mail to the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast at the following address: 28008, Kirovohrad Oblast, Oleksandriya, Soborny Ave., 126A.

A document certifying that the person is alive may also be submitted electronically—via the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s web portal at portal.pfu.gov.ua. In the “Pension Benefits” menu section, select the “Make Changes to Pension File” tab, fill out the required fields of the application, and attach a scanned copy of the certificate from a Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad confirming that the person is alive, as well as documents proving the person’s identity.

4. In person at any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine or at a bank—present a valid form of identification (passport) when visiting.

Important! For individuals residing in temporarily occupied territories or who have left temporarily occupied territories, pension and insurance benefits will be paid only if they are not receiving such benefits from the Russian Federation’s pension authorities.

Remember: Timely compliance with these requirements protects your rights to pension benefits!
