The Global Teacher Prize Ukraine is an annual national award that recognizes teachers who change the world. It is about those who do not just teach, but shape the future of the country through knowledge, example, and dedication.
This year, 54 teachers made it to the semifinals of the award instead of the traditional 50 because they received the same number of points in the rating selection. Each of them is a true agent of change, a leader and a mentor who transforms society not with words but with deeds.
Among the semi-finalists is Olha Cherniak, a computer science teacher and deputy director of educational work at the Ukrainian secondary school No. 13 of the Selydivsk City Council.
For more than 20 years, she has been not only teaching children computer science, but creating an environment where students can dream, act, and grow despite all the challenges of today. Her professional path - from senior counselor to head of the school's educational department - demonstrates her belief in the power of education, the potential of student government, and the importance of taking care of every child on a daily basis.
Her inclusion in the TOP-54 is a recognition of her true leadership, professionalism, and unwavering educational mission in Donetsk Oblast.
On September 1, ten finalists will be announced, and on October 4, 2025, the whole country will learn the name of the winner, who will receive UAH 1 million to implement their own educational project, during a live national telethon.
We are sincerely proud of our fellow countrywoman and are rooting for Olha Cherniak from all over Donetsk region! May this path lead to victory!
