On August 20-24, the junior track cycling world championships were held in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, where 18-year-old Milana Ushakova successfully represented Donetsk region and Ukraine.
The athlete of the School of higher sportsmanship in Donetsk oblast showed excellent result in the elimination race. Competing against 22 rivals from different countries, Milana took third place. The winner was Chantal Pegolo from Italy, and the runner-up was Mathilde Kramer from Denmark.
Our athlete also competed in the omnium race, where she finished in the top eight among 23 participants. In the individual pursuit race Ushakova finished eleventh.
Milana holds the title of Master of sports of Ukraine and began competing for the School of higher sportsmanship of Donetsk region in 2025.
