From February 20 to March 3, the United States hosted the Marine Corps & Air Force Trials, an international adaptive sports competition for wounded military personnel and veterans, to which teams from Australia, Great Britain, Canada and Ukraine were invited.
At the end of the tournament, the Ukrainian team won 43 awards. Fifteen participants represented Ukraine, including Artem Peredereyev from the Pokrovsk community, who represented the Donetsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
In the US, Artem won a gold medal in powerlifting (bench press), became a silver medalist in archery in the team competition, and also won another gold medal as member of the Ukrainian sitting volleyball team.
Artem Peredereyev joined the defense of Ukraine in April 2024 as part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. In June of that year, near Borova in Kharkiv region, he was seriously injured by a drone strike, after which doctors had to amputate both his legs. An important part of Artem's rehabilitation and path to recovery was sport, new goals, persistent training and the desire to constantly improve his results.
