On November 19, specialists from the Donetsk Regional Employment Center organized an informational event entitled “Veteran Business: First Steps to Success,” which brought together veterans from Donetsk Oblast who are interested in developing their own businesses and acquiring new professions after returning to civilian life.
During her speech, Natalia Adamova, director of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center, emphasized that supporting veterans is one of the priorities of the service:
"We are working to ensure that veterans can return to civilian life with support, resources, and the feeling that their experience and strength are needed by society today just as much as they were during their service. The employment service is ready to be there at every stage — from the desire for change to starting your own business or learning a new profession. For a confident start, the state provides not just opportunities, but real tools for support."
Participants were told about the procedure for obtaining grants under the government's “eRobota” project, the requirements for participants, the specifics of submitting applications through the “Dія” portal, and were given examples of successful veteran businesses already operating in various regions of Ukraine.
Particular attention was paid to the opportunities for professional training for veterans. Those present learned about current professions, the conditions for state-funded training, including distance learning formats, and received individual consultations on further steps.
The event took place in a constructive atmosphere. Defenders of Donetsk region joined the dialogue, including veterans from Mariupol who are supported by the NGO “Heart of Azovstal.”
The Donetsk Regional Employment Service continues to develop a comprehensive support system for veterans: it helps with employment, organizes training, advises on starting a business, and provides support at all stages, from idea to implementation.
