Veterans can verify their professional experience without having to undergo additional training

Published 28 April 2026 year, 13:31

The government continues to support employment opportunities for veterans, women veterans, individuals who have rendered special services to the Motherland, and their family members, as well as the family members of fallen defenders.

Currently, there is an option to validate the results of informal vocational training, allowing individuals to obtain a qualification document (certificate) without having to complete a full training course. This is relevant for people who have acquired a profession through practical experience, self-education, or on-the-job training.

Simply contact a qualification center, where your existing knowledge and practical skills will be assessed. If you pass this assessment, you will receive a state-issued certificate.

It is important to note that qualification centers do not provide training; they only assess and validate competencies acquired through work, service, or study both in Ukraine and abroad.

How it works

  1. Select the professional qualification for which you wish to confirm your experience. A list of professional qualifications can be found in the Qualifications Register on the website of the National Agency for Qualifications.
  2. Select a qualification center that issues or confirms professional qualifications. Full list of centers: https://data.nqa.gov.ua/qualification-centers/ and https://register.nqa.gov.ua/perelik-podanih-deklaracij
  3. Contact your local veterans affairs office at your place of registered residence or actual residence (stay). You can submit your application along with the required documents in either paper or electronic form.
  4. If the documents meet the criteria established by law, the veterans’ affairs office will enter into a tripartite service agreement with you and the qualification center.
  5. The qualification center will conduct a theoretical and practical assessment of your knowledge and skills.
  6.  After successfully completing the assessment procedure, you will receive a certificate of professional qualification or recognition of professional qualifications obtained in Ukraine or another country, which allows you to officially seek employment.

For additional information or assistance, you may contact the departments responsible for veteran policy in your community or specialists who support veterans and demobilized individuals.
