On July 15, 2025, on the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, the platform "Center for Unity and National Resistance" in collaboration with the State Archive of Donetsk Region held an interactive lecture "Day of Ukrainian Statehood: Continuity, Dignity, Struggle".
The event was dedicated to the millennium-long path of Ukrainian state-building, its historical continuity from Kievan Rus to the present day. Yana Vlasova, the chief specialist of the document information usage department of the State Archive of Donetsk Region, told the participants about the emergence of the name "Ukraine" during the times of the feudal principalities, the role of the Galician-Volhynian principality and the Cossack Hetmanate in preserving the idea of statehood.
The lecture also highlighted the centuries of struggle against imperial oppression, including attempts to destroy the Ukrainian language and culture. Special attention was given to the Ukrainian People's Republic and its significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian democracy.
Participants were reminded that the achievement of independence in 1991, as well as the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity, were key stages in the formation of modern Ukraine. Ukrainian statehood, as emphasized, is the result of an ongoing struggle for the right to be oneself.
In conclusion of the lecture, it was emphasized that the slogan "Glory to Ukraine!" has today become not just a patriotic call, but a manifesto of freedom. For the young participants present, this means that the state is every Ukrainian who fights and lives with faith in a bright future.
