It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Khomyakov. He was one of the most talented anesthesiologists. A doctor, mentor, colleague, and a multifaceted and extraordinary individual, he dedicated over 30 years of his life to oncology.
Volodymyr Oleksandrovych was a man of broad knowledge, versatile interests, and great inner depth. He was distinguished not only by his high professionalism, but also by his erudition, life experience, sincerity in communication, and ability to be an engaging conversationalist and reliable companion.
He joined the field of oncology in 1991, and from that moment on, his life became inextricably linked with the oncology service of Kramatorsk. Side by side with his colleagues, he worked for the sake of his patients, endured the most difficult professional trials, and was a witness and direct participant in the establishment and growth of the institution while remaining faithful to his chosen path.
For the oncology dispensary, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych represented an entire era, a true milestone in its history. More than three decades of his professional journey are inseparably tied to the hospital's history, its team, the development of cancer care, and the thousands of patients he helped.
