Reviving a Family Business and Creating Jobs: How the “Own Business” Program Helps Entrepreneurs Grow

Published 10 February 2026 year, 13:50

Supporting entrepreneurial initiatives is one of the key areas of work of the State Employment Service, as every new business means new jobs, opportunities for people, and community development. Such support was received by Oleksii Nechaiev from Sloviansk — a practicing dentist with many years of experience who decided to revive his family business.

Oleksii built his professional career over many years, working in both public and private clinics and providing care to patients with a wide range of diagnoses, from simple to complex. At the same time, he had a clear goal — to restore the dental clinic once founded by his parents and lost due to the war. Implementing this plan required significant financial resources.

The entrepreneur learned about the opportunity to receive a microgrant under the “Own Business” program from specialists of the Employment Service, who supported him at all stages of participation in the project. The grant funds made it possible to purchase modern dental equipment and instruments and to launch his own dental office.

For the newly created jobs, Oleksii employed an administrator and a dentist. Recruiters from the Employment Service assisted him in selecting suitable candidates.

Cooperation with the employer continues: specialists inform the entrepreneur about other financial support programs and business development opportunities. Such comprehensive support allows entrepreneurs not only to start their own business but also to confidently scale it up.

The “Own Business” program continues to open opportunities for those ready to develop entrepreneurship. You can learn more about the participation conditions and submit an application at:
