I'm expecting a baby soon. Can I choose monetary compensation instead of the "baby box" and still be eligible for a housing subsidy?
Yes, you can.
In 2025, families can choose one of the following types of assistance upon the birth of a child:
▫ In-kind assistance — the "baby box";
▫ Monetary compensation — 7,689 UAH (equivalent to three subsistence minimums for children under six years old).
According to Clause 7 of the Procedure for Calculating the Average Monthly Total Family (Household) Income for All Types of State Social Assistance, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 632 dated July 22, 2020, such a one-time assistance is not included in the income calculation for determining eligibility for a housing subsidy.
