The State Labor Service of Ukraine explains the specifics of granting leave to employees under the age of 18, for whom the law provides special social guarantees. In particular, the annual basic leave for young people lasts 31 calendar days, is paid, and is granted at a time convenient for the child, even before they have completed their first six months of employment at the company. Teenagers are also entitled to additional paid leave in connection with their studies at schools or vocational institutions, lasting from 4 to 35 days depending on the purpose.
Separately, provisions are made for granting leave without pay. For family reasons, such leave amounts to up to 30 days per year, and during a period of martial law, it is granted without time limits. Fifteen days are allocated for entrance exams to higher education institutions, and for internally displaced persons or those who have left the country—no more than 90 calendar days. If there are other legal grounds, minors may be granted other types of leave.
