The Donetsk Regional Council announces the winners of the regional selection round for the "Order of St. Panteleimon" award for the 2025–2026 season.
For Vladislav Shvedchikov, a senior combat medic with the 18th Slovyansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, the war began with a conscious choice. A volunteer, professional medic, and soldier, he dedicated himself to the most important mission—saving lives in the hottest spots on the front lines.
A graduate of the Izyum Medical College with a degree in paramedicine, he later earned a qualification as a physical therapist. Before the full-scale invasion, he was actively involved in youth politics and social projects in Izyum and Kramatorsk.
On February 25, 2022, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. Since April 2022, Vladislav has been serving as part of evacuation brigades. His combat experience spans the most challenging fronts: the liberation of his native Kharkiv region in the fall of 2022, and fierce battles for Lyman and Chasiv Yar. He personally provided first aid to over 150 wounded soldiers, often under direct enemy fire.
Vladislav is a model of exceptional dedication to his oath. In November 2023, he suffered a concussion near Kupiansk but continued to carry out his duties. In July 2025, near Chasiv Yar, despite being wounded in the leg by an enemy FPV drone, he successfully completed the evacuation of his comrades.
For his bravery, Sergeant Shvedchikov was awarded the Presidential Distinction “For the Defense of Ukraine,” the medals “For Fortitude and Resilience” and “For Valiant Service,” as well as other departmental awards.
He is a man of great responsibility and personal courage. Vladislav Shvedchikov is an example of a true hero of the medical front!
We are proud of our defender! Glory to the medical heroes!
