President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with President of France Emmanuel Macron.
The leaders discussed the situation on the frontline and Ukraine’s urgent defense needs. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Emmanuel Macron for his strategic vision and his readiness to provide exactly what Ukrainian warriors need.
The conversation included a detailed discussion on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, in particular the supply of missiles for the SAMP/T systems and the financing of interceptor drones.
The parties agreed to prepare joint decisions with partners at the level of Defense and Foreign Ministers regarding new steps to protect the lives of Ukrainians from Russian strikes.
France also expressed its readiness to receive additional pilots for training on Mirage aircraft.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron also discussed further steps within the Coalition of the Willing and the implementation of the agreements reached during the recent meeting in Rome.
The President of Ukraine thanked France for its significant contribution to shaping and advancing the EU’s 18th package of sanctions. Work continues with American partners to ensure that Russia feels truly global pressure.
