The Vuhledar and Khlibodar communities announce the continuation of a major educational project for 2026. "Ethno-Toloka: Unity in Traditions" is a project aimed at promoting and preserving elements of intangible cultural heritage.
The goal is to research, preserve, and promote the unique heritage of Donetsk Oblast (NKC), debunking old Soviet myths in the process. We are taking back what is ours!
Creative groups, local historians, artisans, and anyone whose heart aches for the traditional culture of their native land and who wants to unite around our roots are invited to participate.
The project will run throughout 2026 via Google Meet, ZOOM, and Facebook communities.
As part of the project, the "Kolyada Unites Hearts" forum and the "PRO-Kolyada" creative journey have already been held. But there is even more interesting stuff ahead.
🔹 March: "The Lark Will Sing, Spring Will Come" campaign — we call for spring and bake ritual cookies.
🔹 April: "Easter Basket of Traditions" — we prepare for Easter according to the canons of our ancestors.
🔹 May: "Ascension with the aroma of borscht" — we explore the culinary secrets of the region.
🔹 June: "Palm Sunday" — the rites of Trinity Sunday and green holidays.
🔹 October: Festival "Echoes of Wedding Traditions" — recreating Donetsk region weddings (NKS).
🔹 November: "Embroidered Identity" — presentation of in-depth research on 19th century embroidery and carpet weaving.
🔹 December: Forum "From St. Nicholas to Epiphany" — analysis of expedition records, master classes on Christmas symbols, presentation of 12 Lenten dishes, rituals, carols, and New Year's songs.
✔️The project is open to everyone! You can participate in two formats:
- Viewer/listener: join the broadcasts, be inspired by the performances and master classes of the events.
- speaker/participant: share family memories, local songs, recipes, or old photographs.
✔️Features of the format:
✅ The project is social and free.
✅ Events take place online to bring together those at home and those abroad.
✅ The most active participants and partner communities will be recognized with certificates of appreciation.
Let's work together to educate our younger generation about local traditions and show the world the unbreakable identity of our Donetsk region!
Let's protect what is ours together, because that is where our strength lies!
