Due to the escalation of hostilities in the Donetsk region, the residents of the Druzhkivka Children’s Residential Care Home were forced to leave their home. To protect their lives and health, an evacuation was organized, during which 84 children found refuge in the Kingdom of Spain.
Despite the distance and borders, the children began the new school year far from their homeland. Thanks to distance learning, they were able to continue their education at Sloviansk Special School No. 41 of the Donetsk Regional Council.
The first-day-of-school celebration was warm and vibrant. Teachers warmly welcomed the students and held a guidance session, giving them a sense of care and support, which is especially important during wartime.
For these children, moving to another country means not only adapting to a new culture and language but also continuing their education in completely unfamiliar circumstances. The ability to receive an education remotely is not only a testament to the advancement of modern technology but also the result of hard work and a commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for every child, despite all the challenges.
We are truly proud of our students and wish them inspiration, new achievements, and success in their studies.
