A unique cultural platform has been launched in the town of Tulchyn. As part of the All-Ukrainian Youth Ethno-Festival ‘Kalynovi Mosty’, the exhibition ‘Heritage Not Doomed to Destruction’ was opened, presented by the State Historical and Architectural Reserve Administration in Sviatohirsk. The event, which traditionally took place on the grounds of the magnificent Potocki Palace, served as a powerful platform for reflecting on the role of historical memory and culture in times of war, bringing together participants from different regions to strengthen national identity.

The exhibition was presented by Ihor Saletskyi, director of the Sviatohirsk Reserve. During the presentation, he spoke of the dramatic realities: how cultural sites in the Donetsk region are surviving under shelling, the challenges heritage conservationists face on a daily basis, and why the protection of architecture is now a matter of our national security. The event was attended by MPs, government officials, artists, young people and local residents, all united by a shared concern for the preservation of Ukraine’s historical and cultural heritage.

The exhibition is drawn from a collection of digital copies of artworks and photographs that vividly illustrate the life of architectural sites across different eras. Guests at the event were able to see the processes of creating these monuments, their historical transformations, as well as the complex stages of restoration and reconstruction. These materials provide a deeper understanding of the landmark sites of the Donetsk region as an integral part of a unified Ukrainian cultural space.

‘Heritage is not doomed to destruction’ is not merely an educational initiative, but a powerful emotional appeal that our cultural heritage today requires special protection. It is the foundation of our spiritual resilience and national unity, proving once again that even in times of the gravest trials, Ukrainian culture remains alive and unconquered.
