We Continue the Tradition of Gratitude to Ukrainian Warriors – President at Ceremony to Present 25 Housing Certificates to Heroes of Ukraine and Families of Fallen Defenders

Published 19 August 2026 year, 17:08

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented 25 housing certificates to Heroes of Ukraine and the families of warriors who were awarded this title posthumously.

“Today, we continue a tradition – a very important tradition of gratitude: our gratitude to Ukraine’s exemplary and strong warriors, to our Heroes who have done the most and shown the greatest courage in defending Ukraine, defending our land, and defending our positions. Without exaggeration, every story of a Hero of Ukraine deserves to be remembered,” the Head of State said.

The President highlighted the stories of Ukrainian infantrymen who hold the front line, combat pilots who skillfully carry out their missions so that Russia loses equipment and personnel, and sappers who, under extremely difficult conditions, create formidable obstacles to Russia’s advance. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will remember the story of every Ukrainian Hero – intelligence officers, special operations warriors, drone pilots, unmanned ground vehicle operators, artillerymen, naval personnel, and air defense warriors.

“Gratitude is what should accompany respect. It must be an integral part of a normal state, a normal society, and normal people. This is exactly the gratitude we demonstrate when we fulfill our promise to provide a home for every Hero. And may the apartments we are providing today be symbols of the fact that Ukraine is truly grateful – that Ukraine is a state that honors its Heroes, cares for its Heroes, and knows that without the courage of Ukrainian warriors, our state simply would not exist,” the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of remembering everyone who gave their lives so that Ukraine could exist. The fallen warriors were honored with a minute of silence.

The Head of State presented 25 housing certificates, including to service members of the Air Force, Unmanned Systems Forces, Airborne Assault Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, Land Forces, and Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the National Guard of Ukraine. These are defenders who distinguished themselves in battles in the Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions, as well as during the Kursk operation.
