The Russian government has approved a "strategy for sustainable development of the Azov region until 2040." The document refers to "restoring favorable environmental conditions," protecting the biological resources of the Sea of Azov, and developing the recreational potential of the Azov Sea region, which includes the occupied areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
In reality, this "concern" is purely decorative. It is Russia that is systematically destroying the nature of the Azov region with its actions, as a significant part of the coastal zone is used as rear military infrastructure.
This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
The region's environment also suffers from shelling, fires, uncontrolled waste disposal, and the complete mismanagement of the occupation administrations. In order to "restore ecosystems," Russia must end the war.
Promises to develop tourism are absurd at a time when Russians are massively mining the coast, turning beaches into fortifications, and occupying hotels and resorts with military personnel. Such "resorts" can only guarantee tourists a threat to their lives.
❗️Russia's "strategy for the development of the Azov region" is nothing more than propaganda and an attempt to disguise military occupation as concern.
