Before the full-scale invasion began, Anna Kurkina lived and built her future in Sviatohirsk, where she became interested in floristry. At the outbreak of the Great War, she and her daughter sought refuge in Sweden, where she gained experience working with flowers. After returning to Ukraine, she co-founded the Buketten flower workshop in Cherkasy and opened the city's first florist shop.
Born and raised in Sviatohirsk, Anna graduated from Kharkiv with a degree in Applied Mathematics, but realized that she was interested in a completely different field - floristry. She started making bouquets for her friends, custom wedding bouquets, got acquainted with the art of food floristry, and worked in a flower shop. In Sweden, she worked in a flower shop.
Later, she moved to Cherkasy, where she took floristry courses, met her future colleague in a common business, and in March 2024 opened a flower shop called Buketten, which currently employs two more florists.
The florist orders a lot of novelties for the flower shop, but there is also a constant assortment of flowers that are usually in demand and indoor plants. In addition, additional accompanying materials can be purchased for the bouquets, such as toys made in Ukraine (handmade dolls, postcards, toys).
Аnna began to think about expanding: that's how she came up with the idea to create a floromart, which became the first in Cherkasy, thanks to the grant program.
According to Anna, she monitors the floromat's work remotely through the program. Sales are tracked in the same way and it is controlled when the florist needs to be replenished with new bouquets. The process of making a purchase is quite simple: you need to select the number of the bouquet on the monitor, pay the required amount through the terminal and pick up the bouquet. Anna has more ideas for expansion in the future.
This story is proof that even in the most difficult circumstances, Donetsk residents find light in themselves, create, inspire and look to the future with hope.
