Losing a job is a situation anyone can face. At such times, it is important not only to maintain confidence but also to have financial support. This is exactly what unemployment benefits provide — state assistance for people during their job search.
This support helps individuals get through this period more confidently and focus on new opportunities: finding a new job, gaining new skills, or even changing career paths. For many, it becomes a chance to start a new chapter in their professional life.
At the same time, it is important to understand the key conditions for receiving this support, including the amount of payments. So today we answer one of the most common questions:
What is the amount of unemployment benefits?
The amount of unemployment benefits is determined individually and depends on:
insurance (employment) record
salary (income)
reason for dismissal
duration of unemployment
The minimum benefit currently amounts to UAH 1,650. This applies to individuals under 35 who are seeking employment for the first time and have no insurance record. It also applies to those dismissed from their last job due to disciplinary violations (e.g., absenteeism or loss of trust).
For individuals who have less than 7 months of insurance record within the year prior to registering with the employment center, or whose salary data cannot yet be calculated, as well as internally displaced persons without supporting documents, the benefit amounts to UAH 3,900.
For other individuals, the benefit is calculated based on their average salary and insurance record. At the same time, the maximum monthly amount does not exceed UAH 8,647.
