Published 17 November 2025 year, 12:58

On October 7-8, the 3rd Congress of Women of Donetsk Region took place in Kyiv, which became the central event of the year for uniting women of Donetsk Region around the ideas of peace, security and restoration, a platform for women's stories, roles and achievements.

We recall the bright moments of the meeting in the final video. https://youtu.be/TPkz8ksWjtI?si=sbaZhUz8akjtioKB

The forum was attended by more than 170 offline participants, ten times more people watched the live broadcast on the day of the event.

The Congress showed the effectiveness of intersectoral relations – authorities, the security sector, public and international organizations. It demonstrated the power of horizontal women's networks using the example of the Coalition 1325 Donetsk Region, the network of IDP women "Ambassadors of Peaceful Change". Confirmed that the women of Donetsk region act as carriers of peacemaking, economic and cultural changes.

Our forum is evolving – turning into a permanent platform of analytics, dialogue and advocacy, which strengthens the role of women in the process of restoring Ukraine.

The practical result of the Congress was a resolution with 27 recommendations developed by all participants during the event. The ninth thematic area was added to the structure of the resolution of the previous congress – “Preserving identity”, which became the new key focus of the forum. The next step is the implementation of the recommendations of the resolution in the new regional action plan 1325 and other regional policies.

And we continue to believe that we will be able to hold the next congress at home – in Donetsk region. Because Donetsk region was, is and will be! Ukraine was, is and will be!

The Congress is organized by the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Smarta NGO, and the 1325 Donetsk Coalition with technical support from UN Women in Ukraine and funding from the governments of Sweden and Denmark.
