Young eco-activists from Donetsk region met on Hospitality Day ahead of International Energy Saving Day

Published 07 November 2025 year, 10:06

On November 6, 2025, the Donetsk Regional Ecological and Naturalistic Center hosted a Hospitality Day dedicated to International Energy Conservation Day, which is celebrated annually on November 11. The event was held in the format of an online meeting and brought together about 50 participants—young eco-activists from different parts of the region.

During the event, children learned about the importance of energy conservation and realized how everyday household activities affect the environment. They took part in educational and creative activities.

At the beginning of the meeting, participants watched a video entitled "Energy Conservation for Children: Rules for Energy Conservation," which served as a starting point for a mini-discussion. It was emphasized that everyone can contribute to the conservation of energy resources: turn off the lights, use energy-saving lamps, and do not leave appliances in standby mode.

Participants tested their knowledge in a fun eco-game called "True or Fake" and in a quiz about the benefits of fallen leaves. The children actively participated in the game, using Meet reactions, and demonstrated excellent knowledge of nature.

The practical part, a master class on "Chrysanthemums from Colorful Leaves," was particularly exciting. Using natural materials, the children created bright autumn flowers, putting their love of nature and creative inspiration into their work.

Even in a remote format, it is possible to talk about important environmental topics in an interesting and inspiring way, teaching children to treat nature and the planet's resources with care.
