On August 15, a stage of the European Junior Triathlon Cup took place in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova.
The only medal for the Ukrainian national team at the competition was won by Zakhar Tsivkovskyi, a representative of the Donetsk region – a 16-year-old athlete of the Donetsk regional specialized professional college of sports named after S. Bubka and the School of higher sportsmanship in Donetsk oblast, also an athlete-instructor of the Donetsk oblast reserve sports team.
In the junior race, which featured 54 triathletes from 11 European countries, Zakhar Tsivkovskyi won the bronze medal, completing the course in 30 minutes and 35 seconds.
The competition program included a 400-meter swim, a 10.2-kilometer bike race and a 2.4-kilometer run. The athlete from Donetsk oblast finished 7 seconds behind the winner, Giacomo Giorgini of Italy, and was just 1 second behind the silver medalist, Lior Hendroker of Israel.
Zakhar Tsivkovsky was prepared for the competition by honored coach of Ukraine Georgiy Dragulyan and coach Olga Dragulyan.
