This time, a police crew evacuated people from the villages of Bilenke and Krasnotorka. One of the women was forced to leave her home for the second time—she had previously fled the village of Zarichne in the Lyman community.
The situation in the settlements of the Kramatorsk community remains difficult. Russian troops are attacking residential buildings with aerial bombs and using drones to hunt down people and equipment. The streets are deserted, high-rises are destroyed, and cars are burned—this is what the settlements near the front line look like. Due to constant shelling, more and more people are agreeing to evacuate. For some, this isn’t the first time they’ve left their homes.
“I’m an internally displaced person from Zarichne. I lived here for two years. My house is gone—it was destroyed. I left because it was no longer possible to live there. And my husband died,” the woman says.
The “White Angels” evacuated an elderly couple from a private home. As she said goodbye to her home, the woman could not hold back her tears: “Why must we suffer this in our old age?”
Police officers transported the evacuees to a safe location. Moving forward, volunteers will help people resettle in a safer region of Ukraine.
