Despite heavy fighting in Donetsk region and constant danger, last month specialists of DTEK Donetsk Power Grids managed to access a number of damaged energy facilities, repair them, and restore electricity supply to residents of 467 settlements*. Power was brought back to more than 164,000 households. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore electricity in the frontline region as soon as conditions allow and the military grants permission for repairs. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, power supply has been restored to 12 million households on a cumulative basis*.
In September, the enemy continued relentless shelling of Donetsk region, striking with drones, missiles, and aircraft. Despite all difficulties and constant risks, DTEK Donetsk Power Grids specialists fully or partially restored electricity in 467 settlements, bringing light back to 164,460 households.
Restoring power in Donetsk region is becoming increasingly difficult. Yet energy workers continue their efforts. In particular, just last week, company specialists fully or partially re-energized 206 settlements and restored electricity to 19,000 households in the frontline region.
“We are doing everything possible to provide residents and critical infrastructure with electricity, as much as the conditions of ongoing large-scale hostilities allow. Since the beginning of this year alone, we have restored 139 substations, transformer and distribution facilities, and over a thousand kilometers of power lines damaged by the fighting. Our specialists continue to work in Donetsk region despite constant danger — since the start of the year, repair crews have come under fire more than 100 times while carrying out restoration works, and two of our colleagues have been injured,” the energy company reported.
The company’s specialists continue restoring networks and equipment and will ensure that electricity is returned to all residents of the region as soon as permission for work is granted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
*including cases where electricity has been restored to the same customers dozens of times.
