The State Labor Service of Ukraine reminds the public of the legal restrictions on the employment of individuals under the age of 18, which are designed to protect their health and safety. In particular, minors are strictly prohibited from working in underground or heavy labor, as well as in industries with harmful or hazardous working conditions. A separate prohibition applies to the employment of minors in night work, overtime, and work on weekends.
In addition, employers are prohibited from assigning young people to lift and move objects whose weight exceeds the limits established for children. Creating safe conditions for a child’s first work experience is the responsibility of every employer.
