Senior Soldier Oleksandr Kukharchuk, call sign “Panda,” was killed on April 17, 2024, near the village of Netailove in the Pokrovsk district. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained a fatal blast injury. He was 42 years old

Oleksandr was born in Donetsk. He graduated from the Donetsk College of Economics (majoring in Accounting) and the Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mykhailo Tugan-Baranovskyi, where he later taught. He worked as an entrepreneur and, before the full-scale invasion, as a CNC operator at the LG plant in Wrocław, Poland. He loved football, tennis, and traveling.

From the very first days of the full-scale war, Oleksandr returned to Ukraine and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine — first serving in military unit A1451, and later in the 79th Separate Air Assault Regiment “Herts” (military unit A7788) as a senior sapper of an engineering and sapper platoon.

He was awarded the “Iron Cross” and the “Cross of the Air Assault Forces” decorations.

Oleksandr was laid to rest at the Mars Field of the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. He is survived by his beloved partner and her daughter.
