Staff Sergeant Vladislav Bondarenko, codenamed ‘Faza’, was killed on 9 September 2022 as a result of Russian artillery fire during offensive operations near the village of Sukhyi Stavok in the Kherson region. The defender was 24 years old.
Vladislav was born in the village of Maksymilianivka. He trained as an electrician. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with wood. He lived in the village of Lyudmylivka, Voznesensk District, Mykolaiv Oblast.
When full-scale war broke out, he stood up to defend his homeland as part of the 57th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade named after Koshovy Ataman Kostya Gordienko. He served as a staff sergeant in a mortar battery. He was awarded the ‘War Veteran’ badge.
‘You are alive where no one dies… I died here, where people live,’ wrote his wife Kateryna.
The defender was buried in the village of Lyudmylivka, Mykolaiv Oblast.
Vladislav is survived by his wife, mother and younger brother.
