The life of 56-year-old Ihor Sereda was taken by a Russian strike on Sloviansk. On 1 July 2022, the enemy shelled the city with cluster munitions. Pidhirna Street, where Ihor lived, also came under fire.
He was in his yard talking to his neighbour, Volodymyr Avdiienko, whose life was also claimed by the strike.
Ihor Sereda was born in Sloviansk. He completed his secondary education at School No. 5 and later continued his studies at the Sloviansk Agricultural College. The day of the graduation ceremony became tragic for him: when he returned home, Ihor learned that his mother had died suddenly.
He did not work in his field of study. Together with his father, he worked on the construction of a youth residential complex. Later, he mastered the profession of a roofer. He was passionate about motorcycles.
“He is remembered as very hardworking and compassionate, as well as a true master of his craft. Many residents of Sloviansk knew him as an excellent roofing specialist. He was a man of many skills who could handle any job,” the Sloviansk Municipal Territorial Community reported.
Ihor was buried at the Pivnichne Cemetery next to his parents.
