Nationwide minute of silence

Senior Soldier Mykola Kopaihorodskyi, call sign “Kalendar,” passed away on July 31, 2024, in a Kyiv hospital from wounds he sustained in the village of Pishchane in the Kharkiv region. He was 28 years old.

Mykola was born on October 22, 1995, in the village of Shevchenko, Pokrovsk district. He graduated from the Pokrovsk Higher Vocational School, earning a qualification as an electrical installer. He lived with his wife and daughter in the settlement of Mezhova in the Dnipropetrovsk region and worked at the ATB retail chain.

After the start of the full-scale war, he joined the 110th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. He served as a mortar gunner.

“I had the best brother… He was a very good person and a wonderful father to his daughter, whom he loved very much,” his sister Kateryna recalled.

Mykola was laid to rest in the village of Sichneve in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

He is survived by his parents, sister, wife, and daughter.

At 9:00 a.m. — a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial of Heroes platform honor the fallen defenders of Donetsk region.
