57-year-old Larysa Lvova was killed on March 10, 2022, from shrapnel wounds during an airstrike on Mariupol. She was in the yard of her house on Shevchenko Boulevard when a Russian aircraft dropped a bomb. She died on the spot together with her neighbor.
“My mother lay near the house for two weeks before relatives were able to bury her. On May 18, she was reburied at the Starokrymske Cemetery,” said her daughter Albina.
Larysa was born in Mariupol and worked for many years as a vocational training teacher and cultural organizer at School No. 64. She was among the Top 50 best teachers in Pryazovia. She held pro-Ukrainian views, cared deeply for her students, and organized vibrant school events.
“Energetic, positive, and able to connect with every child,” former students recall. “To me, she will forever remain a Mother with a capital ‘M,’” said her daughter.
Larysa Lvova is survived by two daughters and a granddaughter.
