Published 11 October 2025 year, 09:00

The life of Bohdan Kovalov was taken by the Russian army on April 25, 2024. That day, the enemy shelled the village of Udachne. Three people were killed.

Bohdan was 26 years old. He graduated from the Kharkiv State University of Railway Transport and worked at the Bakhmut Signaling and Communication Division as a first-class electromechanic. Later, he was appointed senior electromechanic of the signaling, interlocking, and blocking (SIB) section of the Road Laboratory of Automation, Telemechanics, and Communications.

After the start of the full-scale war, he was temporarily transferred to the Kryvyi Rih Signaling and Communication Division, and also took part in work within the Pokrovsk and Sloviansk structural units.

“Bohdan was calm and balanced. He took his duties seriously — tactful, goal-oriented, and confident. He was very communicative and always in touch with colleagues, 24/7,” - said Acting Head of the Division Oleksandr Krotov.

Bohdan led an active life. He did sports and participated in events organized by Donetsk Railways, including kettlebell lifting competitions. He was also passionate about music.

“My son was creative, talented, and cheerful. He graduated from a music school specializing in the bayan, and later taught himself to play the electric guitar. He was a member of the band Restavrator, wrote music and poetry. Bohdan was a loyal and devoted husband, the pride of his parents, and a wonderful friend and colleague,” - recalled Bohdan’s mother.

Bohdan Kovalov is survived by his wife, parents, and younger sister.
