46-year-old Eleonora Boyko was killed on March 26, 2022, in Mariupol.
During the fighting for the city, she and her family were sheltering in her parents’ house in the Central District. On March 26, Eleonora and her husband went to fetch water. While passing by the dormitories of the Pryazovskyi University, they came under shelling. Her husband was wounded, and Eleonora was killed.
Eleonora was born in Mariupol. In 1998, she graduated from the Pryazovskyi State Technical University with a degree in Production Management. She worked as an economist in the subscriber department of the municipal enterprise Miskvodokanal.
“Eleonora was pleasant, calm, thoughtful, diligent, and positive. And she greatly valued her independence. Already by her 2nd or 3rd year at university, she was living apart from her parents and trying to earn her own living. She was very attentive and caring,” recalled her classmate Mykhailo Vereskun.
“We studied together at PSTU from 1993 to 1998. Back then, she was Ela Obukhova. Wonderful, cheerful, quick-witted, tall, slender, with a great sense of humor. Sadly, was,” added her classmate Viktoriia Shaida.
“She was very kind. She adored her children — they were her whole world. She was such a good, smart, compassionate person, always ready to support you in a difficult moment. I cry for her, I can’t believe she’s gone…” said her colleague Alina Dziuba.
Eleonora Boyko is survived by her husband, daughter, son, and parents.
