Soldier Vyacheslav Pustovit was killed on April 17, 2025, in battle near the village of Kalynove, Kramatorsk district. He was 55.
He was born in Sloviansk and studied at School No. 13. After his compulsory service in the tank forces, he graduated from the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies. He worked as a refrigeration equipment operator at a dairy plant, and since 2010 as a design engineer at PrJSC Kerammash. He was passionate about photography and wrote poetry.
On February 24, 2022, he volunteered for the army. In the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, he served as an operator in an anti-tank unit of the fire support company, fighting in Donetsk region. In 2023, the Sloviansk Municipal Military Administration awarded him the medal Defender of Sloviansk.
“I was in the first-line reserve… When the invasion began, I headed to the military enlistment office, and Slavko said: ‘Let’s go together.’ He was a true warrior,” recalled his brother Denys.
He was laid to rest in his hometown at the cemetery on Danylo Halytskyi Street. He is survived by his parents and his brother Denys.
