National moment of silence

Serhiy Kuznetsov's life was taken by the Russian army in the village of Udachne in Donetsk Oblast. On April 25, 2024, the enemy fired an Iskander-M missile at this settlement. Two of his colleagues were killed alongside him.

Serhiy was 37 years old. He graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Railway Transport. He qualified as an electrical engineer. He worked on the Donetsk railway in the Bakhmut signaling and communications department. He was an electrical engineer in the 1st group of the SCB (Signaling, Centralization, and Blocking) brigade in Zovna-Siversk. In his free time, he loved fishing.

During the full-scale war, Serhiy was temporarily transferred to the Kryvyi Rih signaling and communications division. He was also involved in infrastructure restoration work on the Lyman-Svyatogorsk section. 

"He was very experienced. He was efficient, hard-working, and persistent. His colleagues respected him. He constantly looked after young employees and devoted a lot of time to training newcomers. Before the war, he participated in the construction of modern signaling, centralization, and blocking devices on various sections of the Donetsk Railway," said Alexander Krotov, acting head of the division.

"Sergey was a good family man, a loving and caring father, husband, and son. He always helped his parents with the farm," his friends said.

Serhiy is survived by his wife, two sons, and parents.
