The life of 52-year-old Vadym Svarenko was cut short during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Mariupol.
On March 14, 2022, he left his home on the outskirts of the city to visit his younger daughter. He brought her some water and food. Then he set off back home — but never returned...
“No one saw him again. Only later did I find information that my father was buried in the Starokrymske Cemetery under number 622. The report said he died from shrapnel wounds,”— said his elder daughter, Viktoria.
Vadym Vitaliiovych was originally from Mykolaiv. At the age of 24, he moved with his family to Mariupol, where he worked at a metallurgical plant. In his free time, he loved fishing and catching crayfish.
“He was a very kind father, a wonderful person. He always helped everyone in difficult times,”— his daughter added.
Vadym Svarenko is survived by two daughters and a grandson.
