Nationwide minute of silence

Published 15 April 2026 year, 09:00

77-year-old Alla Izilova was killed as a result of a Russian airstrike on Sloviansk on March 10, 2026. An enemy aerial bomb exploded beneath the window of the apartment building where she lived. The blast wave destroyed her home, and Alla Izilova sustained a concussion, traumatic brain injury, and shrapnel wounds. She was still conscious when rescuers carried her to an ambulance. Doctors performed surgery, but her heart did not withstand the trauma.

Alla Izilova was born on November 2, 1948, in Sloviansk. She graduated from Secondary School No. 5 and an energy technical college. In her youth, she practiced volleyball and athletics. She worked at the Sloviansk Gas Supply Administration and took part in the construction of a gas pipeline. After losing her job in the 1990s, she started her own small business at the Central Market. She raised two children on her own.

Her relatives remember Alla Pavlivna as an active, strong, and determined woman. She believed in herself, in true friendship, and in kindness. She loved cats, flowers, and enjoyed watching sports competitions on television, especially boxing and basketball.

She was laid to rest at the Northern Cemetery in her hometown of Sloviansk.

Alla Izilova is survived by her son and daughter.
