National minute of silence

Published 17 May 2026 year, 09:00

Nina Linichenko’s life was taken by the Russian army on August 7, 2024. On that day, the enemy shelled the village of Mykhailivka in Donetsk region. Nina’s husband, Vadym, was killed alongside her. The couple died in their own yard.

Fifty-two-year-old Nina was originally from Pokrovsk district in Donetsk region. She grew up and studied in Mykhailivka. In 1990, she got married. Together with Vadym, they raised two daughters — the elder Alina and the younger Viktoriia. Nina took care of the household, and the family kept poultry and cattle.

“Nina was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. She was a wonderful housewife. The couple lived together for almost 35 years and, as they say, were soulmates. They built a large house with their own hands and planned to spend a happy old age in their native land,” representatives of the Novohrodivka community said.

Nina and Vadym were buried in the city of Selydove.

At 9:00 a.m. — the national minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial platform: Victims of Russia commemorate the residents of Donetsk region killed by Russians.
