National minute of silence

Published 17 August 2026 year, 09:00

18-year-old Bahir Prosunko was killed on September 6, 2023, in Kostiantynivka. On that day, the Russian army shelled the city center, hitting a market. 16 people lost their lives.

Bahir worked at the market, selling kvass and lemonade. Raised by a single mother, he always strived to help her with everything. To earn extra income, he also installed windows.

Bahir was a graduate of Secondary School No. 11 in Kostiantynivka. Shortly before his death, he had completed driving courses.

The young man is remembered as inquisitive, friendly, and cheerful.

"We could never have imagined that he would end up in such a situation and that this terrible war would take him away. He always dreamed so much about his future... Now our family just needs time, which hopefully will heal us," said Yulia Onoshko, his mother's niece.

Bahir Prosunko is survived by his mother, older brother, three-year-old sister, and other relatives.

At 9:00 AM—the national minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial Platform: Victims of the War remember the residents of Donetsk Oblast killed by Russians.
