Sniper Oleksii Boiko was killed on March 5, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Ocheretyne in Donetsk Oblast. He was 47 years old.
Oleksii was born in the city of Horlivka. He graduated from school there and later from a trade college. In 2014, when Russian forces occupied his hometown, he and his family moved to Sloviansk. He worked in construction and, together with his wife, raised two daughters.
Oleksii was called up for military service in the first days of the full-scale invasion. He became a sniper in a fire support company and defended Ukraine as part of the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.
The defender was laid to rest in Kyiv.
Oleksii is survived by his wife and two daughters.
