Twenty-three-year-old serviceman Yehor Serhieiev was killed on October 21, 2022, during an assault on enemy positions near the village of Spirne, close to Bakhmut.
Yehor was born in the city of Kramatorsk. He graduated from local School No. 12 and later decided to dedicate his life to military service. In 2019, he enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract.
During the full-scale war, Yehor served as a driver-mechanic of a vehicle in the observation platoon of the reconnaissance company of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He took part in battles near Volnovakha, Marinka, and Kurakhove. Later, his unit carried out combat missions in Siversk.
“My dear grandson, there is not a single day that I do not grieve for you. Lord, why such sorrow for our family? He wouldn’t hurt a fly… We will never forget you,” wrote Tamara Lobodova.
The defender’s body was cremated in Kyiv.
Yehor is survived by his mother, younger brother, and beloved girlfriend.
