Published 19 August 2025 year, 09:00

Mariupol resident Volodymyr Roslov was killed in an airstrike on March 17, 2022. He was 47 years old.

The Roslov family lived in a private house located less than a kilometer from the Azovstal plant, which was under heavy shelling by Russian forces.

On March 17, 2022, Volodymyr, his wife Nataliia, and their daughters Polina and Varvara were in the yard when they heard the sound of a plane. They did not manage to hide. Only their eldest son survived, as he was not at home during the airstrike.

Volodymyr was born in Donetsk region. Until 2014, he lived with his family in Donetsk. With the beginning of Russian aggression, they moved to Mariupol. There, Volodymyr worked at a metallurgical plant.

“Volodia worked a lot. He was a kind and decent person, a caring father, and a loving husband,” recalled family acquaintance Nadiia Isachenko.

“They had a close-knit family. Volodia always helped and supported Natashа,” said his wife’s colleague Maryna Mostova.

“Volodymyr was my classmate, my neighbor from the first floor. Our parents were teachers. We lived as children in the teachers’ house in the village of Novokrasnivka. Volodymyr was a wonderful friend. In Mariupol, he used to take his daughters to gymnastics. He loved his children very much and was proud of them,” added Natalia Shevtsova.

Volodymyr is survived by his eldest son, brothers, and other relatives.
