National minute of silence

Published 22 August 2026 year, 09:00

Senior Soldier Bohdan Nikulin, call sign Bodz1n, was killed on August 31, 2023, near Tykhonivka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast. The warrior was 29 years old.

Bohdan was born and raised in Mariupol. He graduated from a local construction college and studied at the Berdiansk University of Management and Business. Starting in 2017, he worked as a printer for the "Priazovsky Rabochy" newspaper.

Beginning in 2019, he completed his mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the full-scale invasion began, he defended Ukraine as part of the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He served as a senior gunner in a self-propelled artillery platoon. Bohdan got married during the war.

His mother, Liliia, remembers him as easygoing, kind, bright, and having a good sense of humor. He loved to sing, impersonated voices, had many friends, loved animals, and protected those in need since childhood. To the very end, he believed he would return to his native Mariupol.

Bohdan is survived by his wife, parents, and grandmother.

At 9:00 AM—the national minute of silence.
