Serhii Mushtei was killed on August 26, 2025, in the village of Bokove, Donetsk region. He was delivering materials and equipment to a mine in the Dobropillia community when the Russian army struck with a guided aerial bomb.
Serhii was 54 years old. He was born in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. He had worked as a truck driver at DTEK Energo for over thirty years. His dedication was recognized with industry awards, and colleagues sincerely respected him.
“He was an example of exceptional responsibility, devotion, and professionalism,” the DTEK Group said.
In his free time, Serhii enjoyed cooking and delighting his family with various dishes. His daughter Daria recalls that they were always prepared with great love. Serhii also devoted much time and care to working on his car. His summer house brought him no less joy—taking care of plants was, for him, true rest for the soul.
“Dad was a bright person with a big heart. He always remained optimistic, able to find something good even in difficult situations. People remember him as cheerful, sincere, and pleasant to talk to. With his love of life, he could encourage others and give them hope. That is how he will forever remain in our hearts—smiling and kind,” added Daria Mushtei.
Serhii is survived by his wife, son and daughter-in-law, daughter, grandson, brother, cousin, and nieces and nephews.
