Soldier Oleksandr Kondratenko, call sign “Radzha,” was killed on September 8, 2023, near the village of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.
During a combat mission, he sustained a leg injury but refused to leave the battlefield. Shortly afterward, the enemy launched another mortar strike, resulting in fatal wounds. He was 33 years old.
Oleksandr was born in the city of Kramatorsk. After finishing school, he graduated from a vocational college, where he obtained a qualification as a painter and auto mechanic. He was passionate about cars and motorcycles and worked as a private entrepreneur.
With the beginning of the full-scale war, he joined the defense of his homeland as part of the 15th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, serving as a grenadier.
“Our beloved angel watches over us from heaven,” wrote his wife, Anna.
The defender was laid to rest at the Alley of Glory in his hometown.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife, daughter, and mother.
