46-year-old Senior Soldier Oleksandr Lehutskyi, call sign “Modzhakhed,” was killed in action on March 12, 2022, near the village of Bohdanivka in the Volnovakha district.
During an enemy artillery strike, a shell hit the tank he was in.
Oleksandr was born in the village of Verkhnokamyanske. He studied at Vocational School No. 145 in the city of Siversk, where he trained as an electric and gas welder. He worked at the “Druzhba” collective agricultural enterprise in his native village, at the “Spektrostroy” company in Lysychansk, and at “Ukrnaftogazbud.” For some time, he was employed as a welder at the Illich Steel Plant in Mariupol. Since 2014, he had taken part in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
During Russia’s full-scale invasion, he served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh, carrying out combat missions on the Eastern front.
“My father was never afraid of death. He always faced any hardship with courage and silence. When asked how he was doing, he would always say he was fine — even when we knew he was near the battlefield. Dad never complained about life. He was an optimist who cherished every moment and taught his children to do the same. He will forever remain in our hearts as a bright soul with a kind heart — a true Hero and patriot of his country,”said Tetyana Lehutska.
Oleksandr is survived by his three children — daughters Tetyana and Daryna, and son Artur.
