Soldier Maksym Nefyodov, call sign “Kukhar,” died on November 23, 2024, near the village of Shcherbinivka in Donetsk Oblast. The group was ambushed by the enemy during a rotation. He was 37 years old.
He was born in Yasnogorka and trained as a pastry chef. He worked in the catering industry, was involved in construction and electrical work, loved applied art and garden roses, and volunteered at Caritas.
From 2014 to 2017, he served under contract, dreamed of joining Azov, and made it happen. During the full-scale war, he was a sniper in the 12th Special Forces Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov.
He was awarded the medal “For Resilience and Indomitability.”
"A loving, dignified husband and father. Our love will live forever," said his wife Vita.
He was buried in Oleksandriya, Kirovohrad Oblast.
He is survived by his wife, children, and parents.
At 9:00 a.m., there will be a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Heroes Memorial platform will commemorate the fallen defenders from Donetsk Oblast.
