The Life of Yeva Tryhub Was Taken by a Russian Shelling of the Town of New York
On June 28, 2024, the enemy launched an airstrike on the Toretsk community, dropping aerial bombs on the town of New York. One of the munitions hit a residential apartment building, destroying the entrance to a five-story structure.
Yeva’s father was killed instantly, while she and her mother were taken to the hospital. Despite all efforts, Yeva could not be saved — she died two days later, on June 30.
Yeva Tryhub was 8 years old. She studied at Toretsk School No. 16, where she was known as diligent and responsible.
"Yevochka was the youngest in our class. She was eager to learn new things, exploring the world with wonder and childlike curiosity. Her gentle smile followed her everywhere. Every day, Yevochka shared kind words, compliments, or comforting thoughts with me and her classmates. It is impossible for the mind or heart to accept this irreparable loss..." said her class teacher, Nataliya Illyina.
Yeva is survived by her mother, grandfather, and other relatives.
