Soldier Oleksandr Kondratenko, call sign “Radzha”, was killed on September 8, 2023, near the village of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.
While carrying out a combat mission, he was wounded in the leg but refused to leave the battlefield. Shortly afterward, the enemy launched another mortar strike, and Oleksandr sustained fatal injuries. He was 33 years old.
Oleksandr was born in Kramatorsk. After finishing school, he graduated from a vocational college with a degree in painting and auto mechanics. He was passionate about cars and motorcycles and worked as a private entrepreneur.
When Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Oleksandr took up arms to defend his country as part of the 15th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, serving as a grenadier.
“Our beloved angel is watching over us from heaven,” — wrote his wife, Anna.
Oleksandr was buried in the Alley of Glory in his hometown.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, and mother.
